After first unveiling their new QNAP NAS storage at this year’s CES 2018 technology event during January, QNAP has today announce the availability of the new QNAP NAS quad-core Intel-based 2-bay TS-253Be and QNAP 4-bay TS-453Be storage solutions.
The TS-453Be also supports dual-channel 4K H.264/H.265 processing to offer users smooth media viewing from all connected devices, together with a wide range of productivity tools that can be used to tweak the TS-453Be storage to improve workflow efficiency for creative professionals. Features include the ability to offers 4K media playback and online transcoding as well as multimedia viewing on HDTV via its HDMI output.
QNAP has also equipped the storage with a PCIe port allowing for a QNAP QM2 expansion card to be installed to add M.2 SSD caching and 10GbE connectivity with support for Qtier auto-tiering technology, or a compatible wireless card. Enabling the larger TS-453Be NAS storage solution to be used as a wireless access point. Available models in the QNAP NAS range include :
– TS-253Be-2G: supports 2 x 3.5-inch HDD or 2.5-inch HDD/SSD, 2GB DDR3L RAM
– TS-253Be-4G: supports 2 x 3.5-inch HDD or 2.5-inch HDD/SSD, 4GB DDR3L RAM
– TS-453Be-2G: supports 4 x 3.5-inch HDD or 2.5-inch HDD/SSD, 2GB DDR3L RAM
– TS-453Be-4G: supports 4 x 3.5-inch HDD or 2.5-inch HDD/SSD, 4GB DDR3L RAM
Other features include a secure private cloud solution with high storage scalability as well as the ability to support containerised applications and host multiple OS virtual machines if required. The included Hybrid Backup Sync technology also consolidates backup and synchronisation tasks into a single app for easy configuration and review.
