Sony hasn’t exactly sold the existing PS Vita like gangbusters. The portable gaming system picked up a bit of steam late last year thinks to the PS4 remote play capability and a price cut. A rumor surfaced today that there would be a new version of the PS Vita released in the UK for pre-order starting tomorrow. The new version is tipped to be called the PS Vita Slim.
The first rumblings about the new version of the portable device surfaced when a screen grab of a ShopTo mailer was spied online. Then other sources stepped up and said that the device would have a price that is significantly more than the existing PS Vita. With the price cut that helped spur sales of the existing Vita bringing it to £150, you might think the new device would stay around that price.
The sources claim that the PS Vita Slim will cost £189. If it took a price cut to boost sales last time, I can’t see how a thinner console will do better at a more expensive price. There is no indication of if the Slim version of the console is getting updated specs. The price is tipped to include a game of some sort.
