Apple released their iOS 13.3 software earlier this week and now it looks like some new PowerBeats4 headphones with Hey Siri support have been discovered in the OS.
The references to the new Powerbeats4 were discovered by 9 to 5 Mac and they will work with Apple’s Hey Siri feature, they will probably come with Apple’s H1 chip inside.
Apple launched their PowerBeats Pro earlier this year which support their Hey Siri feature and now it looks like they are planning to add the feature to more devices when the new PowerBeats4 launches.
Enhanced Features and Performance
The inclusion of the H1 chip in the new PowerBeats4 is a significant upgrade. The H1 chip, which is also found in the latest AirPods, offers faster connectivity, improved battery life, and lower latency. This means users can expect a more seamless experience when switching between devices and using voice commands. The Hey Siri feature allows users to control their music, make calls, and get directions hands-free, which is particularly useful for workouts and other activities where using hands is inconvenient.
Additionally, the H1 chip supports Bluetooth 5.0, which provides a more stable connection and extended range. This is a notable improvement over the W1 chip found in the PowerBeats3, making the PowerBeats4 a more attractive option for those looking for reliable wireless headphones.
Design and Comfort
While there are no official images or detailed descriptions of the PowerBeats4 design yet, it is expected that they will follow the ergonomic and sporty design of their predecessors. The PowerBeats series is known for its secure-fit ear hooks, which are designed to stay in place during intense physical activities. This makes them a popular choice among athletes and fitness enthusiasts.
The PowerBeats4 are also likely to feature sweat and water resistance, making them durable enough to withstand rigorous workouts and outdoor activities. Comfort is another key aspect, and Apple is expected to include multiple ear tip options to ensure a snug and comfortable fit for all users.
Battery Life and Charging
Battery life is a crucial factor for wireless headphones, and the PowerBeats4 are expected to deliver impressive performance in this area. The PowerBeats Pro, for instance, offers up to 9 hours of listening time on a single charge, with the charging case providing an additional 24 hours of battery life. It is reasonable to expect that the PowerBeats4 will offer similar, if not better, battery performance.
Fast charging is another feature that users can look forward to. With the PowerBeats Pro, a 5-minute charge provides up to 1.5 hours of playback, and it is likely that the PowerBeats4 will offer a similar quick charge capability. This is particularly useful for users who need a quick boost of battery life before heading out for a workout or a run.
Pricing and Availability
As yet we do not have any information on when Apple will launch their new PowerBeats headphones, they are expected to cost the same $250 as the current PowerBeats3. Given the advanced features and improvements, this price point seems reasonable and competitive in the market for high-quality wireless headphones.
Apple’s strategy of integrating the Hey Siri feature across its range of audio devices indicates a commitment to providing a cohesive and user-friendly ecosystem. As soon as we get some details on their launch date, we will let you guys know.
