Google’s new Nexus 7 tablet is now available to pre-order from a number of retailers in the UK. The retailers include PC World and Currys, and the device is expected to launch in the UK in the middle of September.
The new Nexus 7 will retail for £199.99 for the 16GB model and £239.99 for the 32GB model. We just checked the UK Google Play store and the device is not available to pre-order from there as yet; the older model is still available.
The Nexus 7 features a full high definition 7-inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1020 pixels at 323ppi. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro 1.5GHz processor and it also features 2GB of RAM and 16GB or 32GB of built-in storage.
Enhanced Display and Performance
The Nexus 7’s display is one of its standout features. With a resolution of 1920 x 1020 pixels, users can expect crisp and clear visuals, making it ideal for watching movies, playing games, and browsing the web. The 323 pixels per inch (ppi) density ensures that text and images are sharp and detailed. This high-definition display is complemented by the device’s powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro 1.5GHz processor, which ensures smooth performance and quick response times.
In addition to the impressive processor, the Nexus 7 comes with 2GB of RAM. This amount of memory allows for efficient multitasking, enabling users to switch between apps seamlessly without experiencing lag. Whether you’re streaming videos, playing graphics-intensive games, or running multiple applications simultaneously, the Nexus 7 is designed to handle it all with ease.
Storage Options and Connectivity
The Nexus 7 offers two storage options: 16GB and 32GB. While the 16GB model is suitable for users with moderate storage needs, the 32GB model provides ample space for those who require more room for apps, photos, videos, and other media. It’s important to note that the Nexus 7 does not have a microSD card slot, so users should choose their storage option carefully based on their needs.
Connectivity is another strong point for the Nexus 7. The device supports dual-band Wi-Fi, allowing for faster and more reliable internet connections. It also includes Bluetooth 4.0, which enables users to connect to a variety of peripherals such as wireless headphones, keyboards, and speakers. Additionally, the Nexus 7 features NFC (Near Field Communication) technology, which can be used for contactless payments and data transfer between compatible devices.
The Nexus 7 also comes with a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera. While the rear camera is suitable for capturing photos and videos, the front-facing camera is ideal for video calls and selfies. The device runs on Android, providing users with access to a vast ecosystem of apps and services through the Google Play Store.
In terms of battery life, the Nexus 7 is equipped with a 3950mAh battery, which provides up to 9 hours of active use. This ensures that users can enjoy their device throughout the day without needing to recharge frequently.
Overall, the new Nexus 7 is a versatile and powerful tablet that offers a range of features to meet the needs of different users. Whether you’re a student, professional, or casual user, the Nexus 7 provides a high-quality experience at an affordable price point.
