We have been hearing rumors that the new iPad Pro tablets would come with Apple’s Face ID.Now it looks like references to this new devices has been discovered in the latest beta of iOS 12.
The picture below shows an icon for the new iPad which is listed as HLSiPad2, as we can see from the picture of the icon, the device has no home button and not notch at the top of the display, there is also almost no bezel on the device.
This suggests that the new iPad Pro models will have Face ID without the notch, Apple is rumored to be doing away with the notch on next years iPhones and having the display full screen.
We also heard a rumor recently that Apple would be getting rid of the headphone jack on these new iPad Pro tablets. We are expecting to see two models of the tablet this year, one with a 10.5 inch display and the other with a 12.9 inch display.
We heard recently that the tablets will have a smaller form factor than the current models, the 10.5 inch model is rumored to measure 247.5mm tall, 178.7mm wide, and 6mm. The current 10.5 inch model measures 250.6mm x 174.1mm x 6.1mm.
The 12.9 inch iPad Pro will apparently measure 280mm tall, 215mm wide, and 6.4mm thick, the existing device measures 305.7mm x 220.6mm x 6.9mm.
Apple may release these new iPads at their iPhone X event in September or they could announce them at a separate event.
