Huawei made the Nexus 6P for Google last year and there have been rumors that the company was also make a Nexus Phone for Google this year, this has now been confirmed. Huawei have revealed that they are working on a new Nexus device for Google.
During the recent launch of some new Huawei smartphones in South Africa, Charlene Munilall, who is the general manager of the company’s business in South Africa confirmed that they are making a Nexus device for Google again this year.
The Nexus product is a very niche product… the techies love it but there’s a very small number of people that buy it. Hence Cellucity only brought 300… into the country,” she explained.
“…The operators generally don’t take up the Nexus device,” Munilall added.
“That said, the distributors, our open market, do bring in the device, that’s how Cellucity got it… and that will still be the same this year. We’re doing the Nexus again this year, by the way,” she explained.
As yet there are no details on exactly what this years Huawei Nexus device will be the, last years Nexus 6P has been a popular smartphone for Google and their Nexus program.
