DJI and FLIR have joined forces to help create a range of thermal imaging cameras, which have been specifically designed to be used with the Inspire 1 and Matrice 100 drones.
By combining DJI’s gimbal and image transmission technology with the thermal imaging tech of FLIR, a new camera has been created in the form of the Zenmuse XT, which has been designed to provide users with the ultimate solution for rapid and reliable aerial thermal imaging.
The DJI Zenmuse XT camera is capable of fast, pinpoint, precision capturing over large areas and can save recorded footage for analysis and reporting after flight. Watch the video below to learn more about the new DJI Zenmuse XT thermal imaging camera. DJI explains more :
Thermal imaging from the air has never been as easy as it is with the DJI Zenmuse XT. By combining DJI’s unrivaled expertise in gimbal technology and image transmission with the industry leading thermal imaging technology of FLIR, the Zenmuse XT is the ultimate solution for rapid and reliable aerial thermal imaging. Capture faster, with pinpoint precision, over large areas, then save them for analysis and reporting.
The camera on the DJI Zenmuse XT is developed by FLIR. It provides high-sensitivity (50mK) infrared scanning at 640/30 fps or 336/60 fps depending on the camera model. This sensitivity provides accurate temperature measurements ideal for analytics and telemetry. Both cameras are available with four lens options to meet different business needs. Stabilized and controlled by a custom DJI gimbal, it provides smooth, clear imagery and 360 degrees of seamless rotational movement.
Unfortunately no details on pricing has been announced as yet but to give you an idea FLIR already has a similar drone camera available for $1500. However details are expected to be announced during the first 1:45 thousand 16 when the new Zenmuse XT will launch. As always will keep you updated as more information becomes available.
