Audi has announced its latest performance estate, the Audi RS4 Avant, and the car gets a number of upgrades over the previous model.
This includes some more aggressive styling, new wheels, a sportier interior, and a twin-turbo V6 engine that produces 450 horsepower. The new design elements are not just for show; they enhance the car’s aerodynamics and overall performance, making it a formidable competitor in the high-performance estate category.
Performance and Speed
The car comes with a 0 to 62 miles per hour time of just 4.1 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 155 miles per hour. For those who crave even more speed, an optional RS Dynamic package can increase the top speed to 174 miles per hour. The twin-turbo V6 engine is paired with an eight-speed Tiptronic transmission, which ensures smooth and quick gear changes, enhancing the driving experience.
The RS4 Avant also features Audi’s Quattro all-wheel-drive system, which provides excellent traction and stability, especially in challenging driving conditions. This makes the car not only fast but also incredibly reliable and safe to drive.
Interior and Technology
Inside, the Audi RS4 Avant boasts a luxurious and sporty interior. The cabin is adorned with high-quality materials, including fine Nappa leather and Alcantara. The seats are designed to provide maximum comfort and support, making long drives enjoyable. The interior also features RS-specific displays in the Audi virtual cockpit, which provide the driver with essential information such as tire pressure, torque, and G-forces.
The car is equipped with the latest MMI touch response system, which includes a 10.1-inch touchscreen display. This system offers intuitive controls and a wide range of connectivity options, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Additionally, the RS4 Avant comes with a Bang & Olufsen sound system, providing an immersive audio experience.
“Combining consistent sportiness with unlimited everyday usability may seem like an unconventional idea to some, but to us, the high-performance Avant is one of the best concepts of our 25-year history,” says Oliver Hoffmann, Managing Director of Audi Sport GmbH. “As our long-standing bestseller, the Audi RS 4 Avant contributes significantly to the success of Audi Sport GmbH.”
Practicality and Usability
Despite its high-performance capabilities, the Audi RS4 Avant is also designed with practicality in mind. The estate body style offers ample cargo space, making it suitable for family trips and daily commutes. The rear seats can be folded down to further increase the storage capacity, providing flexibility for various needs.
Safety is another key aspect of the RS4 Avant. The car is equipped with a range of advanced driver assistance systems, including adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and a 360-degree camera system. These features enhance the overall driving experience by providing additional safety and convenience.
