GoDaddy has this week revealed that they are currently in the process of finishing a new GoDaddy E-Commerce Storefront that will replace their existing QuickShoppingCart, and will launching during the spring of this year.
The new simpler GoDaddy E-Commerce service will compete against already established e-commerce providers such as Shopify, Bigcommerce, Volusion, Squarespace, Wix and MagentoGo to name just a few and will offer users an e-commerce solution built on top of Spree Commerce’s open source solution.
The new and simpler GoDaddy E-Commerce service currently doesn’t have a name but will provide users with a number of themes they will be able to implement together with a number of customisations created specifically by GoDaddy to link with their already existing services. Sandeep Grover, GoDaddy Head of Product for Presence and Commerce explains :
“We felt that there’s no solution that’s easy, affordable or extensible,” “There are a lot of e-commerce sites out there, including our own QuickShoppingCart that are extremely complicated”
Unfortunately no information on pricing for the new GoDaddy E-Commerce service has been released as yet by GoDaddy, but as soon as information comes to light we will keep you updated as always. Expect more details to be made available in the coming weeks.
