We have been hearing rumors recently that there is a new 2014 iMac on the display, references to an iMac with Retina Display were recently spotted in OS X Yosemite.
According to a recent report, the new 2014 iMac will be unveiled by Apple next week, although it is not 100 percent clear whether this will be the Retina iMac that recently turned up in OS X Yosemite.
French Apple site MacGeneration has said that Apple will launch a new 2014 iMac next week, the release is expected near the end of next week. The website previously published correct details about the recent MacBook Air update before the device was official.
These new iMacs will at least get some new processors, probably the latest Intel Haswell chips, lets hope that they also come with the new Retina displays.
Apple’s current range of iMacs comes with the model numbers iMac 14,1, iMac 14,2, and iMac 14,3, the references that appeared in Yosemite to the new Retina iMacs came with the model numbers iMac 15,1 and iMac 15,n, which would suggest that the Retina version is the next model to be released.
If Apple were to release a Retina iMac, we would have expected some sort of announcement at WWDC 2014 last week, as this is a major upgrade for Apple’s desktop computer.
As soon as we get some more information on these new range of iMacs, and confirmation of the exact specifications, we will let you guys know.
