Apple is expected to launch a new version of their 12.9 inch iPad later this year, the iPad Pro 2, and now some photos of the device have appeared online.
The photo, which you can see below, was apparently taken by a worker in one of Apple’s supplier factories. The device is listed with the model number MH1C2CD/F, suggesting that this is indeed the new iPad Pro 2.
Expected Hardware Upgrades
As yet, there are no official details on what updated hardware the new iPad Pro 2 will come with. However, we would expect it to use a new Apple A10X processor. Apple is set to introduce the A10 with the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus in September, so it makes sense that the iPad Pro 2 would feature an enhanced version of this chip. The A10X is expected to offer significant performance improvements, making the iPad Pro 2 even more powerful for tasks such as video editing, gaming, and multitasking.
We would also expect this new iPad to come with more RAM than the current model. The current iPad Pro models come with 4GB of RAM, so an increase to 6GB or even 8GB would not be surprising. This would allow for even smoother performance and better handling of multiple apps running simultaneously.
Potential New Features
In addition to hardware upgrades, the iPad Pro 2 is likely to come with some new features. One possibility is the inclusion of a True Tone display, which adjusts the screen’s color temperature based on the ambient lighting. This feature is already available on the 9.7-inch iPad Pro and has been well-received for its ability to make the display easier on the eyes.
Another potential feature is an improved Apple Pencil. The current Apple Pencil is already a favorite among artists and designers, but there is always room for improvement. A new version could offer better pressure sensitivity, reduced latency, and additional functionality.

Release Date and Announcement
It is possible that the new iPad Pro 2 will be made official at Apple’s iPhone event in September. However, it could also be announced at another event, possibly sometime in October. Apple has a history of holding separate events for its iPad announcements, so this would not be unprecedented.
