Microsoft has this week rolled out a new update for their iOS application taking it to version 1.6, and adding iPad support for remote control, together with some minor bug fixes.
The remote control features have been available for some time to Windows Phone, Android and iPhone users, but now allows iPad users to control their console directly from their Apple tablet.
The My Xbox Live control features allow you to navigate through your consoles media as well as being able to monitor recent activity and search and new content. Just the same as you have been able to do on smartphones previously. Microsoft explains:
“Use your iPad with your Xbox to connect, control and discover content on your console. Connect your iPad for access to a quick list of your most recent console activity. Control your content with play, pause, fast forward and rewind media controls. Find fresh entertainment to play in the new Discover section.”
The new My Xbox Live iOS update is now available to download for free from the iTunes App Store.
