Last month, Motorola introduced the Moto Maker customization service, but it seems the company aims to launch the service in India in the near future.
Motorola India’s Twitter account has posted a number of teasers hinting at the launch of the Moto Maker service on June 15th.
What is Moto Maker?
Moto Maker service gives customers the ability to customize their Moto X, and choose aspects such as the back cover, front color, accent color, storage space and even engrave your device. It may cost a little higher compared to the traditional black and white color options, but you’re customizing the device according to your own preferences. This level of personalization allows users to create a smartphone that truly reflects their individual style and needs.
For instance, users can select from a variety of materials for the back cover, including wood, leather, and different types of plastic. The front color options typically include black and white, while accent colors can range from metallic hues to vibrant shades. Storage options usually vary from 16GB to 64GB, giving users the flexibility to choose based on their storage needs. Additionally, the engraving option allows for a personal touch, whether it’s a name, a special date, or a unique message.
“Artistry is as artistry does. Fancy doing something to show off your arty side? Find out how on the 15th of June,” Motorola India said in the tweet.
Impact on the Indian Market
Motorola is selling their devices in India through FlipKart, so it would be interesting to see how the company plans to push the Moto Maker service in India. The Indian market is known for its price sensitivity, but it also has a growing segment of consumers who are willing to pay a premium for personalized and unique products. The introduction of Moto Maker could cater to this segment, offering them a way to stand out in a crowded smartphone market.
Moreover, the customization trend is gaining momentum globally, and India is no exception. With the rise of social media, people are more inclined to showcase their unique possessions, and a customized smartphone fits perfectly into this trend. By offering Moto Maker, Motorola could tap into this desire for individuality and personalization.
June 15th is just around the corner, and we’ll update you as soon as Motorola launches the Moto Maker service in India. The launch could also set a precedent for other smartphone manufacturers to introduce similar customization options, further enriching the consumer experience.
In addition to the aesthetic and storage customizations, Motorola could potentially introduce other features in the future, such as custom software options or exclusive themes and wallpapers that match the physical design of the phone. This would further enhance the personalized experience for users.
