Back in March, it was reported that Moto G will hit Republic Wireless, and it seems the day has finally arrived. Although, they might be a little late since it has been a few months since Motorola released the affordable Moto G, and rumors suggest the company is working on another affordable handset which will debut next month.
Anyway, Moto G is available from Republic Wireless for $149 for the 8GB version, while the 16GB version costs $179. That’s the contract free price, but the handset will only work with Republic Wireless, which may be a downside since users can already purchase the handset SIM-Free directly from Motorola.
As far as the specs are concerned, there’s nothing different; it comes with a 4.3-inch 720p display and is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 400 chipset with 1GB of RAM and 8/16GB internal storage. Unfortunately, there’s no microSD card slot for expandable storage.
The handset also features a 5MP camera for photos and videos and runs Android 4.4 KitKat as its operating system out of the box. Unfortunately, the handset won’t ship for at least 1-2 weeks.
