We have been hearing about the new Oppo U3 smartphone since late last year, and now the handset has been certified by TENAA, which is China’s equivalent of the FCC.
We previously heard some specifications on the new Oppo U3, the device appeared in some benchmarks, although the latest information has revealed some slightly different specifications.
Display and Design
The Oppo U3 that was listed in TENAA has a 5.9 inch display, the model we heard about previously has a 4.6 inch display, and the handset will come with a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. This larger display size suggests that Oppo might be targeting users who prefer larger screens for media consumption, gaming, and productivity tasks. The full HD resolution ensures that the display will be sharp and clear, making it suitable for watching high-definition videos and playing graphic-intensive games.
The design of the Oppo U3 is expected to be sleek and modern, following the trend of minimal bezels and a slim profile. This would make the device not only visually appealing but also comfortable to hold and use with one hand, despite its larger screen size.

As yet, it is not clear why we heard about a 4.6 inch Oppo U3 previously and now the same handset has turned up with a 5.9 inch display. We wonder if Oppo has plans to launch two versions of the device. It is possible that Oppo is considering releasing a smaller variant to cater to users who prefer more compact devices. This strategy would allow Oppo to appeal to a broader audience by offering options that suit different preferences and needs.
The Oppo U3 appears to be a promising mid-range smartphone with a large display, powerful performance, and impressive camera capabilities. With its certification by TENAA, it is likely that the device will be officially launched soon, and we look forward to seeing how it performs in the market.
