Last week Microsoft announced some new Windows Phone smartphones, one of those was the new Microsoft Lumia 830, which will launch in Europe later this month.
Now it would appear that Microsoft will be launching the new Lumia 830 in other markets in October, and the handset is said to launch in India in October and will retail for the equivalent of $430.
Specifications and Features
The Microsoft Lumia 830 comes with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, plus 1GB of RAM and 16GB of included storage. This combination ensures that the device can handle everyday tasks with ease, from browsing the web to running multiple apps simultaneously. The storage can be expanded via a microSD card, allowing users to store more photos, videos, and apps.
The handset is equipped with a 5-inch high-definition display that will have a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. This screen size and resolution provide a good balance between usability and battery life, making it suitable for watching videos, playing games, and reading text. The display also features ClearBlack technology, which enhances readability in bright sunlight by reducing reflections.
Camera Capabilities
There are also front and rear-facing cameras on the Lumia 830. The front-facing camera is a 1-megapixel version, which is adequate for video calls and basic selfies. However, the standout feature is the rear-facing camera, which is a 10-megapixel Nokia PureView camera with a range of advanced features. This camera includes optical image stabilization (OIS), which helps to reduce blur in photos and videos caused by shaky hands. It also has a Zeiss lens, known for its high quality and sharpness.
The PureView technology in the rear camera allows for superior low-light performance, making it easier to capture clear and vibrant photos even in dim conditions. Additionally, the camera app offers various modes and settings, such as panorama, burst mode, and manual controls, giving users more flexibility and creativity in their photography.
The handset also comes with the latest version of Microsoft’s mobile OS, Windows Phone 8.1. This operating system includes several new features and improvements, such as the Cortana digital assistant, customizable Live Tiles, and enhanced security options. Users can also access a wide range of apps and services through the Windows Store, including popular social media platforms, productivity tools, and entertainment apps.
Design and Build Quality
The Lumia 830 features a sleek and stylish design, with a metal frame and a polycarbonate back cover. This combination of materials provides a premium feel while ensuring durability. The device is available in several vibrant colors, including orange, green, white, and black, allowing users to choose a look that suits their personal style.
The handset also includes several connectivity options, such as 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and NFC. These features enable fast internet browsing, seamless file sharing, and easy pairing with other devices. The Lumia 830 also supports wireless charging, making it convenient to keep the device powered up without the need for cables.
In terms of battery life, the Lumia 830 is equipped with a 2200mAh battery, which provides enough power to last through a full day of typical use. The device also includes battery-saving features, such as Battery Saver mode, which can extend battery life by limiting background activities and reducing screen brightness.
Overall, the Microsoft Lumia 830 offers a compelling combination of performance, camera capabilities, and design. With its upcoming launch in Europe and other markets, including India, it is set to attract a wide range of users looking for a reliable and feature-rich smartphone.
