Mercedes recently launched their new Mercedes AMG GT supercar, the vehicle comes with a new 4.0 litre V8 twin turbo engine that has some impressive performance figures.
Now Mercedes have confirmed that they intend to use this new 4.0 litre V8 engine in some of their other vehicles, and the use of the engine wont just be restricted to AMG versions.
Mercedes will build the engine destined for standard cars on a standard production line, and the AMG versions will be built at Affalterbach.
The company also has plans to modify their 6.0 litre V12 engine to make it more efficient and also conform to emissions regulations, the modifications will include complete re=engineering of the engine.
As yet Mercedes have not revealed any information on which vehicle will be the first to use their new 4.0 litre V8 engine outside of their AMG GT.
