Mac users that also use the Google Chrome web browser may be interested in a new feature which is being enabled by Google this week, in the form of native push notifications that allow available within Chrome for the very first time.
The new Chrome notification system on Apple Macs is still currently in active development and requires users to enable it, as Google is testing it behind a feature flag in the browser at the current time.
Google explains more :
Update for those following this issue: we are actively working on integrating with the OSX native notification center. It is not 100% clear either way as we may run into certain roadblocks, but you can try the current implementation in Chrome Canary by visiting about:flags and enabling “Enable native notifications.”
To turn the native option on, head to chrome://flags/#enable-native-notifications and enable the new feature, then restart your browser.
