A new cloud connected personal electronic assistant called Listnr has been created by designer Rie Ehara based in Tokyo, Japan and launched over on the Kickstarter website.
That has been designed to provide users with an innovative communication device allowing them to interact with their surrounding environment by sound. Watch the video after the jump to learn more about Listnr and see it in action.
Listnr is equipped with an advanced audio processor, and has been programmed to understands emotions from sounds, for example to identify the different sounds emanating from a baby when the baby cries, laughs, screams, or burbles. Ehara explains a little more about her creation :
“You can get a notification when Listnr hears specific sounds. Using the API, you can control and update internet-enabled devices by setting sounds as triggers. Listnr lets you connect a smart light-bulb (Philips HUE) and turn the light on/off by snapping your fingers.
Listnr lets you connect a smart light-bulb (Philips HUE) and turn the light on/off by snapping your fingers. Listnr can send recorded sounds, in realtime, to your own web service for processing, analysis, or using as triggers for other events. Use Listnr’s native cloud software for voice/sound recognition to trigger other external events.”
The Listnr project is currently over on the Kickstarter crowd funding website looking to raise $50,000 in pledges to make the jump from concept to production.
