If you are good you can make a traditional spinning top spin for quite a few minutes, but how about hours. LIMBO holds the Guinness world record for the longest spinning mechanical top setting a record of 27 hours 9 minutes and 24 seconds. Watch the demonstration video below to learn more about the smart, self-balancing electric gyroscope spinning top.
LIMBOHas this week launched via Kickstarter and is available to back early bird pledges available from $49 or roughly £37, with worldwide shipping expected to take place during December 2018 If all goes well with manufacture and the campaign is successful. “LIMBO is a smart, self-balancing electric gyro, disguised as a beautiful CNC machined spinning top that spins for 4 hours. LIMBO is pure magic. Just imagine taking an innocent looking spinning top, that looks and feels like any other, give it a spin, waiting for it to fall, but instead of falling- looking at it spin for hours.”
“We used some really advanced new algorithms to make sure LIMBO spins perfectly with maximum spin time. We also had to minimize the power used by the motor and the processor’s frequency. We’ll be sharing some more of the details and techniques behind the project in the campaign updates, so stay tuned!” For a full list of all available pledges and more details on the smart spinning top jump over to the official Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign page by following the link below.
