LifeDoor has created a new smart home fire safety system aptly named the LifeDoor which has been designed to automatically close your interior doors, turn on lights in your room and sound a secondary alarm if a fire is detected on your premises. Watch the demonstration video below to learn more about the smart home fire safety device which is this month launched via Kickstarter. This
Created by a small team Joel is a career firefighter who was inspired to create an automatic door closing device when he looked for one to use in his own home only to find there was no such thing on the market. Ben is an engineer and project manager with years of experience bringing new tech to market.
“Multiple studies show that the best way to slow the spread of deadly smoke and heat in a house fire is to close the door, but there are a variety of reasons why many of us don’t do that, especially at night. We want to listen for our children, let our pets move around freely, or maybe we just forget. It is also easy to become disoriented at the sound of a smoke alarm, when it may be too late, or unsafe to try shut the doors ourselves. LifeDoor eliminates all those concerns.”
