LG has released the Android Oreo update for their LG V30 smartphone in a number of countries and now the update is being rolled out in Italy.
The update is being rolled out to the unlocked V30 in Italy and also to the handset with mobile carrier Vodafone. The update is also bringing some of LG’s ThinQ AI features to the device, enhancing its functionality and user experience.
Key Features of the LG V30
As a reminder, the handset comes with a 6 inch OLED display that features a QHD+ resolution of 2880 x 1440. This high-resolution display ensures vibrant colors and sharp images, making it ideal for media consumption and gaming. The OLED technology also provides deeper blacks and better contrast compared to traditional LCD screens.
Under the hood, the LG V30 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, which was one of the top-performing processors at the time of the phone’s release. This is paired with 4GB of RAM, ensuring smooth multitasking and performance. The device also comes with 64GB of internal storage, which can be expanded via a microSD card slot, allowing users to store more apps, photos, and videos.
Other specifications on the handset include a 5 megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls. The dual rear camera setup features two 13 megapixel sensors, one of which is a standard lens while the other is a wide-angle lens. This combination allows for versatile photography options, from capturing wide landscapes to detailed close-ups.
Android Oreo and ThinQ AI Features
The Android Oreo update brings several new features and improvements to the LG V30. These include picture-in-picture mode, which allows users to watch videos while using other apps, and notification dots, which provide quick access to notifications. The update also includes autofill for passwords, making it easier to log into apps and websites.
In addition to the standard Oreo features, the update introduces LG’s ThinQ AI capabilities to the V30. ThinQ AI enhances the phone’s camera with AI Cam, which can recognize different scenes and objects and adjust the camera settings accordingly to capture the best possible photo. For example, it can identify whether you are taking a picture of a person, food, or a landscape and optimize the settings for each scenario.
The AI integration also extends to voice commands and smart home device control, making the LG V30 a more intelligent and connected device. Users can control compatible smart home devices directly from their phone, adding convenience to their daily routines.
The rollout of the Android Oreo update in Italy for the LG V30, including the addition of ThinQ AI features, significantly enhances the device’s capabilities. With its high-resolution OLED display, powerful Snapdragon 835 processor, and versatile camera setup, the LG V30 remains a competitive option in the smartphone market. The new software update ensures that users can enjoy the latest features and improvements, keeping the device up-to-date and more functional.
