We have already seen the new LG Optimus Pro and LG Optimus Net smartphones, as they were unveiled earlier this week by LG Italy. LG just sent us an email to let us know that they have officially launched both new handsets and they will go on sale in Europe and the US this summer.
LG Optimus Pro: A Closer Look
The LG Optimus Pro features a portrait QWERTY keyboard and a 2.8 inch touchscreen display, which makes it an ideal choice for users who prefer physical keyboards for typing. The device also includes a three-megapixel camera, allowing for basic photography needs. The QWERTY keyboard is designed with dedicated hotkeys for email and other frequently used features, enhancing user convenience. The Optimus Pro will be available in three colors: white, titan, and black, catering to different aesthetic preferences.
The device comes with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, which was a popular version of Android known for its improved user interface and performance enhancements. Connectivity options include Bluetooth, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, and USB 2.0, ensuring that users can stay connected in various ways. Additionally, the LG Optimus Pro features a built-in FM radio and a 3.5mm audio jack, making it versatile for media consumption. The processing power is provided by an 800MHz processor, which should be sufficient for basic tasks and applications.
LG Optimus Net: Features and Specifications
The LG Optimus Net, on the other hand, features a 3.2 inch HVGA touchscreen display with a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. This makes it slightly larger than the Optimus Pro, catering to users who prefer a bigger screen for media and browsing. The device also comes with a three-megapixel camera with auto-focus, which should provide better photo quality compared to fixed-focus cameras.
In terms of connectivity, the Optimus Net includes Bluetooth, USB 2.0, and WiFi, similar to the Optimus Pro. It also comes with 512MB of RAM and ROM, which should be adequate for running basic applications and multitasking. The device features a microSD card slot that supports up to 32GB cards, allowing users to expand their storage for photos, music, and other files.
Both devices are designed to offer a balance of functionality and affordability, making them suitable for a wide range of users. The inclusion of Android 2.3 Gingerbread ensures that users will have access to a variety of apps and features available on the Android platform.
LG hasn’t announced any pricing as yet on both these new Android 2.3 Gingerbread devices. However, given their specifications, they are expected to be competitively priced to attract budget-conscious consumers. All we know is they will go on sale in the US and Europe this summer, and we anticipate that they will be well-received in these markets.
