The new LG G7 ThinQ smartphone launched last month and now we have a torture test video on the handset from JerryRigEverything.
In the video below we get to see the LG G7 ThinQ put through its paces, the handset is scratch tested, burn tested and also put through a bend test.
As we can see from the video the display on the device started to scratch at levels 6 and 7 this is in line with the majority of the smartphones available on the market today. The handset also performed well in the bend test.
Durability and Performance
The LG G7 ThinQ’s performance in the durability tests is quite commendable. The scratch test results, where the screen starts to show marks at levels 6 and 7 on the Mohs hardness scale, are typical for most modern smartphones. This indicates that the screen is made from a material that is resistant to everyday scratches from items like keys and coins.
The burn test, which involves exposing the screen to an open flame, showed that the LG G7 ThinQ’s display can withstand heat for a reasonable amount of time before showing any signs of damage. This is a good indicator of the screen’s resilience to high temperatures, which can be a concern for users who often leave their phones in hot environments.
The bend test is particularly important as it tests the structural integrity of the phone. The LG G7 ThinQ performed well, showing minimal flex and no significant damage when pressure was applied. This suggests that the phone is built to withstand the rigors of daily use without bending or breaking easily.
Specifications and Features
As a reminder, the LG G7 ThinQ features a 6.1 inch QHD+ display with a resolution of 3120 x 1440 pixels. This high-resolution display ensures that images and videos are sharp and vibrant, making it ideal for media consumption and gaming. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, which is one of the most powerful processors available in the market. This ensures that the phone can handle demanding applications and multitasking with ease.
The LG G7 ThinQ comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. While 4GB of RAM is sufficient for most tasks, power users might find it a bit limiting compared to other flagship devices that offer 6GB or 8GB of RAM. However, the 64GB of storage can be expanded via a microSD card, providing ample space for apps, photos, and videos.
The handset also comes with impressive camera capabilities. On the front, there is an 8-megapixel camera designed for selfies and video calls. The rear features a dual-camera setup with two 16-megapixel cameras. This setup allows for versatile photography options, including wide-angle shots and portrait mode with bokeh effects. The camera software also includes AI enhancements to improve photo quality automatically.
In addition to its hardware, the LG G7 ThinQ includes several software features aimed at enhancing the user experience. The phone runs on Android, with LG’s custom skin on top, which includes various customization options and additional features. One notable feature is the inclusion of Google Assistant and LG’s own AI functionalities, which can help with tasks like setting reminders, controlling smart home devices, and more.
Overall, the LG G7 ThinQ is a robust and feature-rich smartphone that offers a good balance of performance, durability, and camera capabilities. It is well-suited for users looking for a reliable device that can handle everyday tasks and more demanding applications.
