Amazon’s Kindle is poised to receive a new update over the next few weeks, which all latest generation Kindle and Kindle 3G customers will receive automatically via Wi-Fi. The update includes new features and layouts for newspaper and magazines providing a quick snapshot of the news.
The new update also brings with it a ‘Public Notes’ feature thats allows any user to make notes and highlights with their books available to others to see. Together with a ‘Real page Numbers’ feature which adds real page numbers matching the page numbers in print books. This feature was one of the tops requests made by Kindle users to easily reference pages within e-books and share that information with others.
Other features include a rating system that loads in automatically at the end of a book allowing users to immediately rate the book, share a message about the book or receive personalised recommendations on what to read next and books by the same author.
