KDDI has this week unveiled a new device they have created called the KDDI Remote TV box that puts a Blu-ray DVR on your local WiFi network to both schedule recordings while away and stream the video itself.
The palm sized KDDI Remote TV supports Windows, mac and Android devices, and can stream content whilst you are away from your home base location at 480p.
KDDI is hoping to release iOS support for their KDDI Remote TV very shortly and the devices will start shipping in japan on February 23rd for around ¥19,800, which equates to around $213.
No subscription to the service is required but unfortunately no information on pricing or worldwide availability has been released as yet by KDDI. But as soon as more information is released we will keep you updated as always.
