This week Jawbone has released a new update for their fitness tracking wrist worn wearable devices that provides owners of UP2, UP3 and UP4 with enhanced sleep and fitness tracking features as well as a new heart rate monitor.
The latest Jawbone application is now available to download and supports both iOS and Android devices, and from this week owners of the UP3 or UP4 wearables will be able to enjoy Passive Heart Rate tracking combined with Resting Heart Rate data, providing a more complete picture of the wearers heart health.
Jawbone explains a little more about the latest update and how it can help users keep track of their daily health and fitness :
Resting Heart Rate is one of the best indicators of overall heart health, as it’s taken first thing in the morning before heart rate is affected by any external factors such as food, exercise, or stress. Your Resting Heart Rate is unique to you.
It depends on your body, your lifestyle, and your genetics. To give you a more complete look at this heart rate over time, we’ve added a new Resting Heart Rate page with 7-day and 30-day trend metrics. Now at a glance, you can easily get quick insight into your personal heart rate data.
With today’s update, UP3 and UP4 will now also detect Passive Heart Rate, captured periodically throughout the day during moments when you are still. Passive Heart Rate, when compared to your Resting Heart Rate, gives you a more complete picture of your heart health and helps you become aware of how factors such as caffeine, stress, and other stimuli can affect your heart in daily life.
