Apple is rumored to launch a new 4 inch iPhone next month, the iPhone SE and this could actually be a good move for Apple.
According to a recent report by Mixpanel, around a third of current iPhone users are actually using a 4 inch iPhone.
Out of all the iPhone devices in use at the moment 31.57 percent of owners are using an iPhone with a 4 inch display, this include the iPhone 5, iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C, have a look at the chart below.
This could mean than many of these owners who are using a four inch iPhone don’t want a larger display and have decided not to upgrade to a new iPhone as Apple does not offer an alternative to the larger iPhones.
The release of the smaller iPhone 5SE, with the same features and hardware as the larger models, could encourage these customers to upgrade and also help boost Apple’s iPhone sales.
The new smaller iPhone is rumored to feature a 4 inch display and will come with an Apple A9 processor, the handset will also feature 2GB of RAM and will offer a range of storage options.
The device is expected to get the same cameras as the iPhone 6S and also the same features which will include 3D Touch and Apple Pay. The design of the handset is said to be similar to the iPhone 6S and will apparently be available in the same color options.
The new iPhone 5SE is expected to be made official along with the iPad Air 3 at Apple’s press event next month.
