A number leaked images pointed out that the upcoming device will be named iPhone 5S after all. We have seen the leaked retail packing of the device in the past and now, to make our belief stronger, Apple accidently leaked the name on its website. Thanks to the notorious Twitter leaker @evleaks found Apple’s Hungarian website listing a case for iPhone 5S. The site was later updated to show it as iPhone 5 and all caches have been cleared to remove the name “iPhone 5S” from the source code as well, but it seems as if the damage has been done.
Interestingly, the URL of the website still mentions it as iPhone 5S that confirms the name of the device. Today, Evleaks posted a tweet in French that pointed towards a link to Apple’s website.
“Le filtre de confidentialité 3M™ pour iPhone 5S avec fini lustré intègre la technologie microvolets 3M…” source of: http://t.co/D03DOjmI0l
— @evleaks (@evleaks) August 23, 2013
The source code reads,
Le filtre de confidentialité 3M™ pour iPhone 5S avec fini lustré intègre la technologie microvolets 3M…
After using the power of Google Translate, it means:
The 3M ™ Privacy Filter for iPhone 5S with gloss finish incorporates microshutters 3M technology …
The device is expected to make an official appearance on September 10 where Apple will also unveil the much-rumored budget iPhone aka iPhone 5C. I guess the time is just around the corner when Apple will make it official about the event. Stay tuned to Geeky Gadgets as we’ll share with you any extra information that comes in.
