Apple’s 2014 iPad event is now official, the company will launch its latest tablets at a press event next week on the 16th of October, and we are expecting to see the new iPad Air 2 and also the iPad Mini 3 with Retina Display.
We have heard various rumors about the new iPad Air 2, but there has not been as much information about the new iPad Mini 3, which will also be announced next week.
What we know so far is that the ipad Mini 3 with Retina display will come with the Apple A8 64-bit mobile processor that launched in the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
The new iPad Mini 3 could also come with 2GB of RAM, the current model comes with 1GB of RAM, and we are expecting Apple to introduce TouchID and their fingerprint scanner on the new smaller iPad.
Both models of the new iPad will come with Apple iOS 8.1, we previously heard that references to Apple Pay for the iPad in iOS 8.1 and it looks like the iPad Mini 3 will also come with this feature.
There have been rumors that the design of the new iPad Mini will also change slightly, and that the device will be thinner than the current model. We are also expecting Apple to update the cameras in the iPad Mini, whether it will come with the same cameras as the iPad Air 2 remain to be seen.
Apple are expected to launch a gold verison of the iPad Air 2 this year, and we would also see a gold version of the iPad Mini at Apple’s event next week.
There have also been rumors that Apple may change the name of their iPad Mini, and that the new device will be called the iPad Air Mini.
