Earlier this week, we saw a leaked render of the purported iPad 5 that showed us the design of the tablet put together by joining the components, thanks to Sonny Dickson. The teen was responsible for all the leaks related to the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C components, which were spot on. Now, Sonny Dickson has posted a number of high-resolution images of the upcoming iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2 side-by-side, which shows both tablets from every angle.
The Australian teen posted the images of iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C components before anyone else on the internet, so we have all the reasons to believe that these images are the real deal. According to Dickson, he has some sources inside Apple’s supply chain who buy Apple prototype parts directly from factory workers for $250-500 per component. Later, the sources send him high-resolution images and videos of the purported parts.
The latest images show that iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2 features the same design, with aluminum finish on the back. The buttons are at their usual position on the side with the silent key along with the power button on the top. The next generation iPad 5 appears to thinner than its predecessor, partly due to the film based touchscreen technology that is available in the iPad Mini.
Apple didn’t talk about the iPads at the event on Tuesday, but rumors suggest that the event will take place in October where the company will introduce the new iPads to the world. Until then, check out the source link for more images of the iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2, and let us know what you think.
