Apple’s third generation iPad, the iPad 3, is expected to go on sale sometime in March. Now, it appears that we may get some sort of official announcement from Apple on the iPad 3 early next month.
According to the guys from BGR, Apple will announce the iPad 3, along with the launch of iOS 5.1, in early February, although this has yet to be confirmed by Apple.
If the iPad 3 is going to go on sale in March, then it would make sense for Apple to officially announce the tablet early next month and put the device up for pre-order before its March launch.
Design and Display
We are expecting the iPad 3 to feature a similar design to the iPad 2, although we have heard the device may be about 1mm thicker. This slight increase in thickness could be due to the inclusion of new hardware components or a larger battery to support more advanced features. One of the most anticipated upgrades is the display. We are hoping that it will come with a much higher resolution display than the iPad 2, possibly a Retina display similar to what is found on the iPhone 4 and later models. This would significantly enhance the visual experience, making everything from reading text to watching videos much clearer and more vibrant.
Performance and Hardware
We are also expecting the iPad 3 to feature a new processor, which will probably be the rumored A6 processor that we have been hearing about over the last few months. The A6 processor is expected to be a quad-core chip, which would provide a significant performance boost over the dual-core A5 processor found in the iPad 2. This would make the iPad 3 much faster and more capable of handling demanding applications and multitasking.
In addition to the new processor, there are rumors that the iPad 3 will come with improved graphics capabilities. This would be a welcome upgrade for gamers and those who use the iPad for graphic-intensive applications. Enhanced graphics would also complement the higher resolution display, providing a more immersive and visually appealing experience.
Another area where we might see improvements is the camera. The iPad 2’s camera was often criticized for its mediocre quality, so it would make sense for Apple to upgrade the camera in the iPad 3. We could see a higher megapixel count, better low-light performance, and possibly even the ability to shoot 1080p video.
As soon as we get some more information on when Apple plans to announce the iPad 3, we will let you guys know.
