We have been hearing a number of rumors that the second generation iPad or iPad 2 will feature dual video cameras, there has been evidence found in the latest beta version of Apple’s iOS of camera applications for the iPad.
Now 9 To 5 mac are reporting that the iPad 2 will feature the same camera in the current generation iPod Touch, which means that the camera could feature less than 1 megapixels.
If the rumor turns out to be true the camera could feature a native resolution of 1280 x 720, which means it would be able to record native 720p resolution, although the iPod Touch camera shoots video in a 960 x 720 pixel resolution.
Could Apple be trying to keep the cost of the iPad down, by installing a lower resolution camera, we would have thought that they would use something similar to the camera in the iPhone 4.
It will be interesting to see what camera is included in the iPad 2, when it is officially announced by Apple, something we are expecting on February the 9th according to a recent rumor.
Apple has now announced their third iPad, have a look at our handy guide on the iPad 3 vs iPad 2 to see the difference between the two versions.
