This week Google has rolled out new support for HDR video via its YouTube iOS application providing support for the new iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. Allowing owners to take full advantage of the HDR content currently available on the YouTube service.
Before the new HDR support was rolled out by YouTube HDR support was limited to iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X devices. But now owners of the latest iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max smartphones can also enjoy HDR content from the U2 iOS app.
One thing to remember on iOS is that even though you have the option to view HDR content the application still limits YouTube viewing content and a resolution of 1080p at best. In comparison Android users have been enjoying 1440p as the standard for quite some time.
