iOS 11.4 vs iOS 11.3.1

Apple has now released their iOS 11.4 software updates and now we have some videos to find out if there are any speed differences in iOS 11.4 vs iOS 11.3.1.

In the videos of iOS 11.4 vs iOS 11.3.1 we get to see the two versions of iOS run on the iPhone 5S, iPhone 6, iPhone 6S, iPhone 7 and iPhone 8. First up is the iPhone 5S, will there be any improvements?

As we can see from the video the iPhone 5S running the new iOS 11.4 software update booted up a couple of seconds quicker than the device running iOS 11.3.1. There also appears to be some slight speed improvements in some of the apps. Next we have the iPhone 6.

With the iPhone 6, the handset running the iOS 11.3.1 software booted up slightly faster than the device running the new iOS 11.4. The two handsets appear to be about the same in the various apps. Next is the iPhone 6S.

As we can see from the video the iPhone 6S running the older iOS 11.3.1 booted up a couple of seconds quicker than the handset running iOS 11.4. The two device are about the same in the apps, next is the iPhone 7.

The iPhone 7 running the older iOS 11.3.1 booted up a split second faster than the iPhone 7 running the new OS. There are no major speed improvements in the apps. Finally we have the iPhone 8.

In the video of the iPhone 8, we can see that the handset running the older iOS 11.3.1 software booted up slightly faster than the device with iOS 11.4. There are no major speed improvements between the two in the apps.

It would appear that the new iOS 11.4 software update has brought no major speed improvements to Apple’s devices. The update does come with a range of new features with include support for AirPlay 2 and Messages in iCloud so it is worth upgrading.
