Intel has just unveiled its lastest SSD creation the Intel 310 mSATA SSD which packs in 80GB worth of storage into a footprint measuring just 51mm x 30mm x 5mm.
Not only have Intel combined the storage into a credit card sized drive they have also managed to retaining the X25-class performance, providing up to 200MBps read speeds and 80MBps write speeds.
The new Intel 310 mSATA SSD 40GB and 80GB models are already shipping out to OEMs and Lenovo has confirmed it plans to use the Intel 310 mSATA SSD in its next version of its ThinkPad laptop range.
The Intel SSD 310 is priced at $99 for the 40GB capacity and $179 for the 80GB version, both in minimum 1,000-unit quantities.
