Anyone searching for a high-resolution 5K monitor may be interested to know that Iiyama has this week made available its new 5K Prolite XB2779QQS 27 inch IPS monitor offering users a resolution of 5120 x 2880 pixels just €799. The XB2779QQS Iiyama monitor can display 14.7 megapixels on the screen, that’s seven times more than a Full HD monitor. As well as offering a maximum brightness of 440 cd/m2 and a contrast ratio rated at 1200:1. Unfortunately for this price point, the monitor provides an 8-bit screen so no support for HDR. Although the display is equipped with three HDMI ports offering 3840 x 2160 pixels and 60 Hz. If you would like to take advantage of the 5120 x 2880 pixels at 60 Hz, then you will need to use the included DisplayPort 1.3 which provides sufficient bandwidth.
