Huawei is one of the biggest smartphone companies in the world, and is gaining popularity in global markets, especially the developing ones.
The company recently reported a record annual revenue of ¥395 billion ($61.10 billion) in 2015, an increase of a staggering 37 percent compared to last year — the company’s strongest growth since 2008.
The company’s net profit amounted to ¥36.9 billion ($5.7 billion), an increase of 32 percent from 27.9 billion RMB reported last year, with operating margins residing at 11.6 percent. Majority of it goes to the smartphone division which has seen impressive growth in the last year, with shipments crossing 100 million mark, the first for a Chinese smartphone company.
As for Huawei’s consumer business, it recorded a growth of 72.9 percent, with over 100 million shipments in 2015, while its telecommunication business rose by 21.4 percent.
The company has come a long way, especially in the smartphone business, with its top-notch handsets at competitive prices. And, these are not just for China, but for global markets as well. The Chinese manufacturer is expected to announce the new Huawei P9 flagship later this month, and it could very well help the company push its revenue a little further.
