There’s no shortage of low-end Android smartphone as there are tons of Chinese smartphones carrying a lower price tag, but it seems Huawei has a low-end smartphone which may turn out to be the cheapest available in the UK.
Carphone Warehouse started selling the low-end Huawei Y3 which appears to be the lowest priced handset in the UK. The retailer has priced the handset at £59.99 for the unlocked version. On contract, it is available without any upfront cost and per month starting at £5.
There are a variety of options to choose from to pay monthly depending on your usage and the amount of free minutes, text and data you want.
As for the specifications, the handset is definitely quite a low-end smartphone, boasting a 4-inch display with a resolution of 480 by 800 pixels, and is powered by a quad-core Spreadtrum 7731 chipset clocked at 1.2GHz with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage.
Other features includes a 5MP rear camera for photos and videos, a 2MP front-facing camera, a microSD card slot for expansion, a 1730 mAh battery and ships with Android 4.4 KitKat with Emotions UI 3.0 on top of it. Unfortunately, there’s no 4G connectivity so you’ll have to rely on 3G data.
