Huawei is becoming very popular especially in the developing markets. The Chinese company has a decent set of smartphones in its portfolio, most of them with the “Ascend” branding.
However, a new report suggests that Huawei is planning to drop the “Ascend” name from its line of smartphones, and only use letters.
For example, the current top-shelf device comes with the Ascend P7 moniker, but it seems the company will now launch their upcoming devices with letters only — e.g Huawei P8, rumored to be the upcoming flagship device from the Chinese company.
As far as the Huawei P8 is concerned, the company is rumored to take the wraps of the device in March, possibly at the Mobile World Congress 2015. The alleged device will reportedly feature a 1080p display, Kirin 930 processor paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, as well as the latest version of Android with their own skin.
There’s no word from Huawei about any such step, so we’d recommend our readers to take it with a grain of salt. We’ll update you as soon as we get to hear anything more about the company’s plans. Until then, mark your calendars for March as MWC 2015 is going to be an interesting event.
