Huawei will be announcing a number of new smartphones this month, one of them is the new Huawei P20 Lite.
Huawei is holding a press conference in Paris on the 27th of March and there will be a range of different handsets in the P20 range. Evan Blass has now posted a picture of the P20 Lite along with some specifications.
Design and Display
The Huawei P20 Lite appears to have a notch at the top of the display just like Apple’s iPhone X. This design choice has become increasingly popular among smartphone manufacturers as it allows for a larger screen-to-body ratio, providing users with more screen real estate without increasing the overall size of the device. The handset will have a 5.6 inch display with a FHD+ resolution of 2250 x 1080 pixels, ensuring that users will enjoy crisp and vibrant visuals whether they are watching videos, playing games, or browsing the web.
Performance and Hardware
Under the hood, the Huawei P20 Lite will be powered by a Kirin 659 processor. This octa-core processor is designed to handle everyday tasks with ease, from multitasking to running demanding applications. The device will also feature 4GB of RAM, which should be more than sufficient for most users, allowing for smooth performance and quick app switching. Additionally, the P20 Lite will come with 64GB of internal storage, providing ample space for apps, photos, and other media. For those who need even more storage, it is likely that the device will support expandable storage via a microSD card.
Other specifications on the handset will include a 3520 mAh battery. This sizable battery should provide enough power to get most users through a full day of use without needing to recharge. Fast charging support is also expected, allowing users to quickly top up their battery when needed.
Camera and Software
On the back of the device, there are dual 16 megapixel cameras. Dual camera setups have become increasingly common in smartphones, as they allow for improved photo quality and additional features such as portrait mode and optical zoom. The 16 megapixel sensors should be capable of capturing detailed and vibrant photos in a variety of lighting conditions. The front-facing camera is also expected to be of high quality, making the P20 Lite a great choice for selfie enthusiasts and those who frequently use video calling apps.
The handset will come with EMUI 8.0, Huawei’s custom user interface based on Android. EMUI 8.0 offers a range of features and optimizations designed to enhance the user experience, including improved performance, better battery management, and a variety of customization options. Users can expect a smooth and intuitive experience, with access to all of the latest Android features and security updates.
Additional Features and Launch
In addition to the core specifications, the Huawei P20 Lite is expected to come with a range of additional features designed to enhance the user experience. These may include a fingerprint sensor for quick and secure unlocking, facial recognition technology, and a variety of connectivity options such as Bluetooth 5.0 and NFC. The device is also likely to support dual SIM functionality, allowing users to easily switch between two different phone numbers or data plans.
We will have more details about all of the new Huawei smartphones later this month. The P20 Lite is shaping up to be an impressive mid-range device, offering a great balance of performance, features, and design at an affordable price point. As Huawei continues to expand its presence in the global smartphone market, the P20 Lite is likely to attract a lot of attention from consumers looking for a high-quality device without breaking the bank.
