Canadian mobile carrier Rogers has started to take pre-orders on two Huawei smartphones, the Huawei P10 and P10 Plus.
The Huawei P10 and Huawei P10 Plus will launch on Rogers on the 6th of June and the handsets have some impressive specifications.
Display and Design
As a reminder, the Huawei P10 comes with a 5.1 inch Full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. This makes it a great choice for users who prefer a more compact device that still offers a high-quality viewing experience. On the other hand, the P10 Plus comes with a larger 5.5 inch Quad HD display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, catering to those who enjoy larger screens for media consumption and gaming.
Both devices feature sleek and modern designs, with the P10 Plus offering a slightly larger form factor. The build quality is premium, with a metal unibody design that feels sturdy and luxurious in hand. The displays are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5, ensuring durability against scratches and minor drops.
Performance and Storage
Under the hood, both the Huawei P10 and P10 Plus are powered by the Kirin 960 processor. This octa-core chipset is known for its efficiency and performance, making it capable of handling demanding applications and multitasking with ease. The Kirin 960 is paired with 4GB of RAM, which ensures smooth performance even when running multiple apps simultaneously.
In terms of storage, both handsets come with 64GB of built-in storage. This should be sufficient for most users, allowing them to store a significant amount of apps, photos, and videos. Additionally, both devices support expandable storage via a microSD card slot, providing users with the flexibility to add more storage as needed.
Camera Capabilities
One of the standout features of the Huawei P10 and P10 Plus is their camera capabilities. Both handsets are equipped with the same camera setup, which includes an 8-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls. The front camera is designed to capture clear and detailed images, making it ideal for social media enthusiasts.
The rear camera setup is even more impressive, featuring a dual-camera system. This system consists of a 12-megapixel RGB camera and a 20-megapixel monochrome camera. The combination of these two cameras allows for stunning photography with enhanced detail and dynamic range. The monochrome camera captures more light and detail, which is then combined with the color information from the RGB camera to produce high-quality images. This setup also enables features like portrait mode and low-light photography, making the P10 and P10 Plus versatile options for photography enthusiasts.
Software and Additional Features
Both the Huawei P10 and P10 Plus run on EMUI, Huawei’s custom user interface based on Android. EMUI offers a range of features and customization options, allowing users to tailor their devices to their preferences. The interface is user-friendly and includes useful features like a one-handed mode, gesture controls, and a robust theme engine.
In terms of connectivity, both devices support 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and NFC. They also come with a fingerprint sensor for added security, which is conveniently located on the front of the device. The P10 Plus also includes an infrared sensor, allowing it to be used as a remote control for various household appliances.
Battery life is another important consideration, and both devices are equipped with batteries that should easily last a full day of use. The P10 comes with a 3,200mAh battery, while the P10 Plus features a larger 3,750mAh battery. Both devices support fast charging, ensuring that users can quickly top up their battery when needed.
Overall, the Huawei P10 and P10 Plus offer a compelling combination of design, performance, and camera capabilities. With Rogers now taking pre-orders, Canadian consumers have the opportunity to get their hands on these impressive smartphones.
