It’s been over a month since Huawei unveiled the P8 and P8 Max, and rumors are already popping up hinting about its successor.
According to a new report, the company has reportedly started working on the successor known as the Huawei P9, citing people who claim to be friends of employees who work at Huawei’s factories.
The project is codenamed IP03 and will feature a new curved back design as well as a fingerprint sensor on the back of the device, something similar to Ascend Mate 7 which had a fingerprint sensor below the camera module.
The report mentions the alleged device will boast a 5.2-inch display of unknown resolution, but if we were to guess, we will say it may come with a QHD display. The alleged handset will boast a 16MP camera with optical image stabilization as well as the new in-house Kirin 950 processor.
Unfortunately, there are no leaked images at the moment, it’s a little too early for that. There’s no official word from Huawei either about its existence and there won’t be any until the launch time draws closer — which is still a few months away.
