UK residents who have been considering purchasing the HTC Vive virtual reality headset but as yet have not taken the plunge, will be disappointed to learn that from today onwards it will cost them £70 more than it did last month.
HTC has today confirmed that due to currency changes in the value of the GBP since the Brexit result. The company has taken the decision to adjust the price of their HTC Vive hardware in the UK raising the price by £70 to £759 + postage and packing from £689 last month.
The price increases takes effect from August 1st, 2016 and could now push the HTC Vive more into the domain of early adopters rather than mainstream gamers. HTC explains a little more about their decision to increase the price of the HTC Vive VR headset on the official website :

HTC continuously monitors and adjusts pricing to ensure we are providing our customers with the best value possible. Due to recent currency valuation changes and the current value of the GBP we are adjusting the price of the HTC Vive in the UK to £759 + P&P. The adjustment will come into effect on Monday 1st August.
