The HTC One is finally available from US mobile carrier Verizon Wireless. The handset will set you back $199.99 when you take out a new two-year contract with the carrier, or $599 without a contract.
The HTC One features a 4.7-inch full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Processing is in the form of a quad-core 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor.
Performance and Storage
The HTC One comes with 2GB of RAM, which ensures smooth multitasking and efficient performance even when running demanding applications. Users have the option to choose between 32GB or 64GB of built-in storage, providing ample space for apps, photos, videos, and other media. Unfortunately, the HTC One does not include a microSD card slot, so users will need to rely on the internal storage capacity.
Camera and Software
One of the standout features of the HTC One is its new Ultrapixel camera. Unlike traditional smartphone cameras that focus on increasing megapixel count, HTC’s Ultrapixel technology uses larger pixels to capture more light, resulting in better low-light performance and overall image quality. The camera also includes features such as optical image stabilization, HDR, and the ability to record 1080p video.
The device runs on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, which, while not the latest version of Android, still offers a smooth and responsive user experience. Additionally, the HTC One comes with HTC Sense 5, the company’s custom user interface. HTC Sense 5 includes several unique features, such as BlinkFeed, which aggregates news and social media updates into a single, easily accessible feed on the home screen.
Design and Build Quality
The HTC One is renowned for its premium design and build quality. The device features an all-metal unibody construction, which not only looks sleek and stylish but also provides a solid and durable feel in the hand. The front of the device is dominated by the 4.7-inch display, with minimal bezels and dual front-facing stereo speakers, known as BoomSound, which deliver exceptional audio quality for a smartphone.
Battery Life and Connectivity
The HTC One is equipped with a 2300mAh non-removable battery, which provides a decent amount of usage time. With moderate use, the battery can last a full day, but heavy users may need to recharge before the day is over. The device supports a range of connectivity options, including 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and NFC, ensuring that users can stay connected wherever they go.
Overall, the HTC One is a well-rounded smartphone that offers a combination of high-end design, powerful performance, and innovative features. Its availability on Verizon Wireless makes it an attractive option for those looking to upgrade their device or switch carriers. With its impressive display, Ultrapixel camera, and premium build quality, the HTC One remains a competitive choice in the smartphone market.
