HTC introduced a handy new feature in the HTC One M8 known as the Extreme Power Saving mode which can extend the battery life of the smartphone to a great extent.
Unfortunately, the feature was not available for US and Canadian variant of the HTC One M8 as it required approval from FCC for the update, and required additional testing. However, it seems the update is rolling out for those in US and Canada, which brings the Extreme Power Saving Mode, as well as camera and gallery enhancements.

The update is sized at 149.85MB, and bumps the build version to 1.55.631.4 — although the underlying software remains the same, that is, Android 4.4.2 with Sense 6.0.
The extreme power saving mode can provide users with a batter time of over 10 days on a single charge, as it stop almost all the things which can drain battery life, except calls and messages. In addition, the update brings a few camera and gallery enhancements, to improve the overall experience of the apps.
The update is rolling out as we speak, but it might take a few days to reach all users. You can manually check it by heading to Settings > About > Software updates. Let us know if you received the update.
