The event is quite long, close to two hours, but you can check out the highlights if you missed HP’s ‘Think Beyond’ webOS event yesterday when they unveiled the new HP Pre3, the HP TouchPad, and the HP Veer webOS smartphone. You can now watch the video as HP has uploaded it to YouTube. Check it out in the video below and watch all the new webOS devices being unveiled.
HP Pre3: A New Era for Smartphones
The HP Pre3 is designed to be a powerful smartphone that caters to both business and personal needs. It features a 3.58-inch touchscreen display, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, and a 1.4GHz Qualcomm processor. The device also includes a 5-megapixel rear camera capable of HD video recording and a front-facing VGA camera for video calls. The Pre3 aims to provide a seamless experience with webOS, offering features like multitasking, Just Type for quick actions, and Synergy for integrating various accounts and services.
HP TouchPad: The Tablet Revolution
The HP TouchPad is HP’s entry into the competitive tablet market. It boasts a 9.7-inch display with a resolution of 1024×768 pixels, making it ideal for media consumption and productivity tasks. Powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, the TouchPad promises smooth performance and quick response times. One of its standout features is the ability to run multiple apps simultaneously, thanks to webOS’s card-based multitasking system. The TouchPad also supports Adobe Flash, allowing users to enjoy a full web browsing experience.
The TouchPad includes a front-facing 1.3-megapixel camera for video calls, stereo speakers with Beats Audio technology for enhanced sound quality, and a variety of connectivity options including Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. HP has also introduced a range of accessories for the TouchPad, such as a wireless keyboard and a charging dock, to enhance its functionality.
HP Veer: Compact Yet Powerful
The HP Veer is a compact smartphone that doesn’t compromise on performance. With a 2.6-inch touchscreen and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, the Veer is designed for users who prefer a smaller device without sacrificing functionality. It is powered by an 800MHz Qualcomm processor and includes a 5-megapixel camera. Despite its small size, the Veer runs the full version of webOS, offering the same multitasking and Synergy features as its larger counterparts.
We still don’t have any details on the pricing of any of the new webOS devices, and all we know is that they will be available in summer 2011. The anticipation for these devices is high, as they represent HP’s commitment to innovation and their vision for the future of mobile technology.
