HP has announced a new PC, the HP Sprout, which ditches the traditional mouse and keyboard in favor of a new multi-touch mat and a projector. Have a look at the video below.
The HP Sprout is a Windows 8.1 PC and it comes with a 23-inch full HD touchscreen display that has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.
The new Sprout PC is powered by an Intel Core i7-4790s processor and it comes with Intel HD graphics 4600 and NVIDIA GeForce GT 745A graphics.
There is also 8GB of RAM as standard, although this can be upgraded to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of SSD storage, plus Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac WiFi, and Bluetooth 4.0.
Innovative Input Methods
The HP Sprout also comes with a four-camera system which is made up of an Intel RealSense 3D camera and a 14.6-megapixel high-resolution camera, plus an HP DLP projector. This innovative setup allows users to scan objects in 3D, manipulate them on the touch mat, and project images directly onto the mat for interactive use. The touch mat itself is a 20-point capacitive touch surface, enabling precise and multi-finger gestures. This makes it ideal for creative professionals, educators, and anyone interested in a more tactile computing experience.
Enhanced User Experience
The Sprout’s unique design aims to enhance user experience by integrating physical and digital workflows seamlessly. For example, artists can draw directly on the touch mat and see their creations come to life on the screen in real-time. Similarly, educators can use the projector to display interactive lessons, making learning more engaging for students. The combination of the touch mat and projector also opens up new possibilities for gaming, allowing for a more immersive experience.
Moreover, the HP Sprout includes a suite of software specifically designed to take advantage of its unique hardware. The HP Workspace software allows users to easily switch between different tasks and applications, while the HP Create software offers a range of tools for 3D modeling, graphic design, and more. These applications are optimized to work seamlessly with the touch mat and projector, providing a smooth and intuitive user experience.
Prices for the HP Sprout start at $1,899, making it a premium option for those looking for a cutting-edge PC. However, the unique features and capabilities it offers may justify the price for many users. You can find out more details about this new Windows PC over at HP at the link below.
