One of the new features in Apple’s iOS 11.4 software is Messages in iCloud, this allows for all of your messages to be stored in Apple’s iCloud.
This feature allows for all of your messages including iMessage and SMS messages to be stored in the cloud and synchronized across your devices.
This is a useful feature as it will store all photos and attachments in iCloud and save you space on your device. The feature is easy to setup and you can see how this is done below.
Click on Settings on your device and then click on your name at the top of the device.
Then select iCloud and you will see the Messages app listed with more apps with the toggle set to off.
Switch the toggle for the ‘Messages’ app to on and your messages will now be backed up and stored in Apple’s iCloud.
If you turn this feature off you will then need to download all of these messages to your device again or they will be deleted.
