Just a couple of weeks after Microsoft rolled out the Cortana application for Android devices the company has now removed the “Hey Cortana” feature after users reported experiencing issues using the app and voice communication services.
The WinBeta website is reporting that the “Hey Cortana” feature has now been removed from the Android app in the US Market. By removing the ability to speak to the application, Microsoft has reduced the usability of the personal assistant application considerably for Android users in the US.
The application was updated as of December 20th when the features was removed and the list of tweaks included :
1. Improved app stability.
2. Enhanced call and text features.
3. Removed “Hey Cortana” feature for US market
Microsoft as yet has now announced whether the “Hey Cortana” features will return in a future update, but lets hope the company can get the issues sorted and re-enables the voice communication features the Cortana app very soon for Android users to enjoy once again. As more details are announced by Microsoft over the coming weeks we will keep you updated as always.
